This colour photograph of Dr Kantilal Naik was taken by Craig Matthew of DOXA during the interview on John Vorster Square (JVS) conducted for the Sunday Times Heritage Product (STHP) - a joint project between SAHA and the Sunday Times in 2007. A teacher and colleague of Ahmed Timol's at the Roodepoort Indian School, Dr Kantilal Naik was arrested in October 1971 and detained at John Vorster Square for four months.
Included in "Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square" - a DVD produced as part of this project, 2007 and the SAHA online exhibition - 'Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square', 2012. |
