This is a video clip of part one of the interview with Penelope Baby Twaya conducted by Tymon Smith on 26.05.2007 at the Johannesburg Central Police Station (previously John Vorster Square) as part of the Sunday Times Heritage Project - a joint project between SAHA and the Sunday Times. Penelope Baby Twaya was only 16 when she was arrested in 1977 as part of the student leadership in the weeks leading up to the first anniversary of June 16th. She was detained at John Vorster Square from June to December 1977. Part/s of this interview may have been included in "Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square" - a DVD produced as part of this project.
