Description: |
This poster is silkscreened in black and red, produced by Thami Mnyele and J Seidman, who based it on a woodcut by Figlan Mpikaypheli of the removals at Soekmakaas. The image shows blacks being forcibly resettled by men with guns. The full text reads: "LET US ALL SUPPORT THE FIGHT! : IN NYANGA, KROMDRAAI, CROSSROADS, SOEKMAKAAR, THE PEOPLE SAY: : NO TO RESETTLEMENT!". Digitised by Specialised Archival Solutions in 2009. Reproduced in "Images of Defiance: South African Resistance posters in the 1980s" on page 10 (number 14) of the 1991 SAHA / Ravan Press edition and the 2004 SAHA / STE Publishers edition. It also appears on page 73 of “Red on Black: The Story of the South African Poster Movement”, SAHA / STE Publishers, 2007.
