Abstract: |
Brian Currin established the National Directorate of Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) in 1987 (which he led until 1994), and led a delegation of human rights lawyers to meet with the then exiled African National Congress's (ANC) Constitutional team in 1989. During the Multi-Party negotiations from 1991 to 1993 he made representations to the Technical Committee tasked with drawing up the Bill of Rights. In 1993 he challenged the mass destruction of state records. He later became an independent consultant in legal issues relating to constitutional law, human rights, labour and employment law and issues of conflict resolution, and also participated in attempts of conflict resolution internationally. |
