This collection traces the developmental history of the Constitution Hill complex as a heritage site and the Constitutional Court and consists of materials relating to the Johannesburg Fort, Number Four prison, the Women's Jail, and also includes prisoner narratives and materials donated by ex-prisoners, including Barbara Hogan, Esther Barsel, Joe Slovo, Fatima Meer and Lilian Keagile, and ex-warders, as well as organisational records. The collection contains paper-based materials, photographs, videos, museum objects and a small library.
