In the late 1993 and early 1994 rumours of war and civil war from the right-wing underground organisations were rife. In January 1994 De Wet Potgieter and Doug Lee of Rapport newspaper were hooded and taken to a secret venue in the mountains of KwaZulu-Natal where well-known right-wing activist, Leonard Veenendaal, and other right-wingers were secretly busy with covert training of Zulu warriors.
