This is a transcript of the interview with Zephaniah Nkomo, conducted by Mary Ndlovu on 29 November 2010 for the South African History Archive (SAHA) as part of the Zenzo Nkobi oral history project. In this interview, intelligence officer Zephaniah Nkomo describes the journey from Rhodesia to Botswana, military and intelligence training, deployment to guard leadership in Lusaka, role in intelligence surrounding the attack on Nkomo’s house. Main focus on his role receiving refugees returning home in Bulawayo 1980, how they were handled, including the disabled. The interview was transcribed by Mary Ndlovu.
