This digital colour photograph of Charles Madonko was taken by Mary Ndlovu during the interview she conducted with Madonko for the South African History Archive (SAHA) as part of the ZAPU/Zenzo Nkobi oral history project on 03.07.2011. In his interview on ZAPU membership in Zambia, Charles Madonko describes his role as a ZAPU member in 1960’s recruiting and raising funds on the Copperbelt, and as a student in Hungary and Lusaka. He also mentions his role as a farmer growing food for camps and assisting in caching weapons and identifying the location of Mkushi Camp.
