INVITATION: SAHA in the Classroom workshops for April and May

SAHA welcomes the second term of the school year with workshops 3 and 4 in our 2015 workshop series and we are inviting all history teachers and student teachers to attend.

SAHA Workshops for EducatorsThe workshops are hosted at the SAHA offices at Constitution Hill on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. Because the workshops are FREE, it is important to RSVP in order to book your space.

Term 2 schedule

  • Workshop 3: APARTHEID AND THE RISE OF RESISTANCE (pre-1976) – Saturday 18/04/2015
  • Workshop 4: RESISTANCE UNDER APARTHEID (1976 onwards) – Saturday 16/05/2015

These workshops focus on using primary sources to teach learners about apartheid history. Term 2 workshops will draw from the following SAHA resources:

> The SAHA in the Classroom series of booklets

> Voices from our Past (audio CD and the Educators’ Guide)

> Between Life and Death: Stories from John Vorster Square

Please note that these SAHA publications will be included in the workshop pack for attendees and that they are also available as free downloads on the SAHA website.
