Abstract:	Commissioned by the Labour Research Committee between 1979 and 1981, a team headed by Neil Coleman conducted research on influx control, migrant labour and conditions of the labour force in various industries for the period 1930 to 1980. This research was meant to culminate in a publication, which never materialised.
