Justice, Unfinished Business and Access to Information

"Without a free exchange of opinions, life dies out in every public institution and only
bureaucracy remains active."

Rosa Luxemburg

Justice, Unfinished Business and Access to Information reports on a conference hosted by SAHA and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in 2004. This conference brought together South African and German academics and practitioners to discuss the complex interactions between the rights of access to information and the protection of privacy within the context of human rights violations, retrospective justice and accountability, particularly within post-unification Germany and post-apartheid South Africa.
